Thumbturn lock advantages.February 13th 2023

Had a callout last Sunday afternoon.  Customer had left the key on the inside of the lock so couldn’t open it from the outside as the key he was using wouldn’t work.  This is a comon problem.  I always advise customers to fit lock barrels with a ‘thumbturn’ on the inside.  Works exactly the same on the outside, i.e., still need to use your key from outside- but no key on the inside, just a twist knob, thus eliminating the risk of leaving a key in the lock.

Anyway, got the customer through his door in a couple of minutes and back home for my Sunday roast.  Job done!
